Goldenseal (Hydrastis Canadensis)Antimicrobial; a bitter herb whose root is an anticarrhal; tonic; used as a antibiotic; contains berberine effective against Helobacter pylori (often responsible for recurrent ulcers) and giardia; effective against grampositive bacteria such as streptococcus and staph, and gramnegative bacteria such as Escherichia coli; treats eczema and ringworm (applied topically) reduces inflammation of the eyes; contraindicated during pregnancy.
